Radioactive Waste
Radioactive waste is generated whenever radioactive materials need to be disposed of after use, or when materials come into contact with radioactive material. There are several types of waste resulting from power production, medical uses, industrial processes, and research. Classed into different types of waste based upon their effect on people and the environment, safety regulations define how these types of waste can be responsibly and sustainably handled as waste.
