Radon has only limited uses today such as for hydraulic and geological research.
Risks
Radon is generally uncommon in open air but can be found in higher concentrations in basements as radon can enter through the foundation. Radon can also contaminate water but is generally released quickly. Exposure to radon through inhalation can cause lung disease or lung cancer however this takes several years.
