Tracking and Detecting Radioactive Material
Member States Side Events
This joint event organized by Germany and Romania is intended to raise awareness among IAEA Member States and international organizations of the multiple cases involving the smuggling of radioactive material for illegal gambling activities. This event will describe the details of criminal cases involving playing cards contaminated with iodine-125, demonstrate how Germany and Romania collaborated during the criminal investigations and helped each other to assess the facts and circumstances of such cases. This event is organized by Germany and Romania.
This event will be held on Monday, 25 September 2023, from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. in Conference Room M5, M Building, ground floor.
