Conference Venue
The conference will be held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. Participants must make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Please note that the IAEA is not in a position to assist participants with hotel bookings, nor can the IAEA assume responsibility for paying cancellation fees or for re-booking and no shows.

The convention center is located in the Olympic Green area, adjacent to the National Stadium (“Bird's Nest”) and National Aquatics Center (“Water Cube”). The closest metro station is Olympic Green Station (Lines 8 & 15).
Exhibitions
It is planned to hold an exhibition from Monday, 18 May to Thursday, 21 May 2026 in conjunction with this conference at the China National Convention Center, Beijing. Interested parties should contact the conference host by e-mail before 15 March 2026. Further information regarding the exhibition process will be provided to the prospective exhibitors once all the submissions of interest have been received.

Visa Information
Whether you need to apply for a visa to travel to China depends on your nationality and the type of passport you hold. As of April 2025, the People's Republic of China has signed mutual visa exemption agreements with 158 countries. For detailed information, please visit the official website.
In addition, China also offers Unilateral Visa Exemption Policies for certain countries:
- Europe (34 countries): France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Sweden
- Oceania (2 countries): Australia, New Zealand
- Asia (7 countries): Brunei, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain
- South America (5 countries): Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay
Nationals of these countries can enter China visa-free for purposes such as business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, and transit, provided that their stay does not exceed 30 days. The duration of stay is calculated from 00:00 on the day following the day of entry.

If you are not eligible for any of the visa exemption policies mentioned above, you will need to apply for a visa to enter China. The application process can be initiated via the official website.
After submitting the visa application form online, you will need to submit the required application materials to the nearest Chinese embassy/consulate or Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC).
To apply for a visa through the Chinese Online Visa Application system, an invitation letter from the host is required. Visa support letters can be requested via email. Please provide the invitation letter of IAEA, a copy of your passport and specify your position/title and institutional affiliation.
Processing Time:
The visa application processing time typically ranges from 4 to 6 workdays from the date of submission. We strongly recommend that you apply as early as possible before your planned travel date to China.
Conference Web Pages
The website created by the organizer for this conference will contain and update relevant meeting information, and also open registration for related matters, including reservations for participants’ working lunches and technical visits. A link to this website will be provided on the IAEA website, and participants are encouraged to visit it regularly for updates. The website is currently under development and is expected to go live in early March.
Transportation Arrangements
The organizer of this conference does not provide shuttle bus service, and participants are required to arrange their own transportation to the venue. The China National Convention Center enjoys convenient access to surrounding transportation options:
- It is 24 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport, with an approximate travel time of 1 hour by car
- It is approximately 67 kilometers from Beijing Daxing International Airport, with an approximate travel time of 2 hours by car
- It is 0.8 kilometers from the Olympic Sports Center Station of Metro Line 8, with an approximate walking time of 10 minutes
- It is 0.2 kilometers from the Asian Games Village Bus Stop, with an approximate walking time of 2 minutes
- It is 0.3 kilometers from the 4-star Beijing Continental Grand Hotel, with an approximate walking time of 3 minutes
- It is 2 kilometers from the 3-star Asian Games Village Hotel, with an approximate travel time of 10 minutes by car, and the hotel provides a free shuttle service
Technical Visits:
In the course of May, the organizer will provide a scheduled shuttle bus service between the China Institute of Atomic Energy and the conference venue for technical visits.
