Press Arrangements for 55th IAEA General Conference
Representatives from the 151 member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will meet at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) on Monday, 19 September, for the five-day IAEA annual General Conference to discuss major topics on the organization's agenda.
This year's Scientific Forum, to be held on 20 and 21 September, is entitled Water Matters: Making a Difference with Nuclear Techniques. It will also be held at the VIC.

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a meeting at the Agency's headquarters starting at 10:30 CET on Monday, 12 September, in Boardroom A of the M-Building, in the Vienna International Centre (VIC).
Director General Yukiya Amano will open the meeting with an introductory statement. His statement will be released to journalists after delivery and posted on the IAEA website the same day. Director General Amano is also expected to hold a Press Conference during the Board's lunch break on Monday, 12 September, in the Press Room of the M-building.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will host a five-day Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Safety from 20 to 24 June, to discuss issues related to improving nuclear safety around the world. Following the 11 March 2011 nuclear accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Japan, caused by the Great East Earthquake and Tsunami, the IAEA has led efforts to learn lessons from the accident and to strengthen nuclear safety throughout the world.
