Uranium-235 is almost exclusively used to generate power in nuclear power plants due to its fissile properties as well as its relative abundance in nature.
Advantages
It is a fissile material that can be used for sustained nuclear reactions.
Risks
There are no known radiological effects of exposure to naturally occurring uranium however exposure to products of U-235 fission can cause cancers.
