  • Nuclear Fuel Cycle

Nuclear reactors use fuel that is manufactured in a so-called nuclear fuel cycle that begins with mining, then moves to enrichment, fuel fabrication and then is consumed in a reactor. Afterwards the used fuel can be reprocessed and utilized as fuel. During this process, fuel in different stages is transported and ultimately will be stored as radioactive waste. The reactors that consumed the fuel will also be decommissioned.
