General uses
Uses of uranium outside of nuclear power include uses in photographic materials and for radiometric dating. Depleted uranium can be used as shielding for other radioactive materials.
Risks
There are no known radiological effects of exposure to naturally occurring uranium however the chemical effects of large amounts of uranium can cause kidney diseases.
