TheIAEA has launched a four-year Coordinated Research Project (CRP) to progressthe international scientific and technical basis of the deep borehole disposalconcept.

The expected outcome is to provide Member Stateswith a comprehensive understanding of the present global state of art knowledgeon DBD concepts and provide a basis on whether and how to pursue furthernational R&D studies towards implementing such a disposal concept.
