  • Nuclear Energy Summit 2026

    Background

    The second Nuclear Energy Summit will be held by the Government of the French Republic in Paris on 10 March 2026, following the successful inaugural Summit in Brussels on 21 March 2024. The IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi will attend and deliver a statement. The Agency supports by contributing technical expertise and helping shape the panel and roundtable discussions, ensuring they reflect the latest developments in nuclear technology, safety, financing, innovation, and international cooperation. 

    Heads of State and Government, heads of international organizations, financial institutions, industry representatives and experts will discuss the role of civil nuclear energy in addressing major energy and climate challenges.

    Nuclear energy is attracting growing interest around the world. It accounts for nearly 10% of global electricity production and is regarded by many countries as an essential complement to renewable energies for the production of dispatchable, low-carbon electricity. 

    This summit represents an important opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and promote real-world solutions for the safe and sustainable development of civil nuclear power.

    In addition to facilitating dialogue, the summit aims to encourage the development of initiatives and partnerships among countries, international organizations, financial institutions and industry.
