    Guyana Signs its First Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2020–2025

    Collette Adams, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health and Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Guyana’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2020–2025 on 22 November 2019. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

    Guyana has been an IAEA Member State since 2015. Its 2020–2025 CPF identifies 6 priority areas:

    1. Legislative and regulatory framework
    2. Radiation safety and security
    3. Human health and nutrition
    4. Food and agriculture
    5. Energy and industry
    6. Human capacity building
