    Description

The purpose of this CRP is to investigate and report on the latest advances in rotating equipment monitoring and diagnostic techniques. This will also include the use of state-of-the-art rotational monitoring sensors and data transmission techniques, including wireless technologies. The proposed CRP will follow on from the now completed CRP entitled “Improved Instrumentation and Control Maintenance Techniques for Research Reactors using the Plant Computer” (T34001).

    Objectives

To investigate and report on the latest advances in rotating equipment monitoring and diagnostic techniques. This will also include the use of the latest in rotational monitoring sensors and data transmission techniques including wireless technologies.

    Specific objectives

    a) innovative methods in research reactor analysis; b) to establish the procedures and protocols to be employed; c) to make a detailed comparison of results between different organizations and codes so that the accuracy and precision of the different approaches can be properly evaluated, and d) Based on the experience acquired in the previous steps, application of the available codes to different research reactor cases.

    Impact

Improved monitoring of rotating equipment in operating RRs in Member States and hence improved availability and reliability of RRs

    Relevance

Relevant to all Member States either having operating RR or planning a new one.
