Provision of Operational Radiation Protection Services at Nuclear Power Plants

This publication gives guidance on the radiation protection services that are needed during the operation of a nuclear power plant to achieve acceptable performance in radiation safety and on the optimization process that must be applied to these sevices to comply with the ALARA principle. It presents a broad overview of environmental monitoring, radioactive waste management, emergency planning, the transportation of radioactive material and the analytical services associated with the assessment of internal and external radiation doses.
