As the world is seeking for new solutions to provide clean energy for our future, fusion energy research is getting more and more attention - from the public but also from the private side. In this session we would like to present the current state of fusion energy development. Besides highlighting the progress of the ITER project, the large International Organization based in the South of France, we will present various projects and approaches and the current state of research. And we will talk about the relationship between ITER and the IAEA, its history and the current scope of cooperation.
