    Introduction

Given the rapid advancements in uncrewed systems technology, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and their growing prevalence, there's a need for research into their nuclear security implications focusing on overlooked vulnerabilities and benefits that could impact the security of nuclear facilities and the detection of material out of regulatory control.?This webinar aims to explore the interest in a potential IAEA Coordinated Research Project (CRP) on aerial, ground and maritime uncrewed systems for nuclear security.

The webinar will start with an overview of the common lexicon established in the webinar on Nuclear Security Implications for Uncrewed Aerial, Ground, and Maritime Systems that took place on 20 and 21 March 2024. Following this, the speakers will delve into details regarding the IAEA CRP programme and share their first-hand experiences with CRP participation. This will be accompanied by a presentation elucidating the proposed CRP and allowing time for questions from participants. Lastly, a poll will be conducted to gauge interest in a prospective CRP on uncrewed systems.

The webinar will be offered twice on Friday 22 March 2024 at 09:00 CET and 17:00 CET. The programme will be the same for both times.

    Objectives

In this webinar, Member States will learn about the Coordinated Research Project processes and objectives of the planned Coordinated Research Project on Aerial, Ground, and Maritime Uncrewed Systems for Nuclear Security.
