The World Nuclear University (WNU) is a global partnership committed to enhancing international education and leadership in the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. The University aims to strengthen education in nuclear science, engineering and law; promote public understanding of nuclear technology; and inspire and strengthen the development of a new generation of leaders for the nuclear industry. The WNU was founded in September 2003 with the support of the IAEA and three other international nuclear institutions: the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development/Nuclear Energy Agency; the World Nuclear Association; and the World Association of Nuclear Operators.
The WNU offers several training opportunities. The IAEA provides financial support to a limited number of participants from developing countries. Applications are made directly to WNU.
