As a part of ICONS 2024, the Agency launched the “Nuclear Security Delegation for the Future” initiative. Twenty-four participants from 19 Member States were selected from a pool of over 200 applicants to attend the conference and take an active role in technical sessions and career development activities. Participants were either within their first five years of nuclear security related work or were university students. A highlight of the Delegation’s experience was their development of a Statement on nuclear security, which they delivered at the closing session of the Conference. 

During this webinar, panelists will discuss their experiences in the Delegation as well as insights into the early years of establishing a career in nuclear security.

The objectives of the webinar are: 

• To engage the international nuclear security community in an open discussion about career opportunities in nuclear security that were identified at ICONS 2024 as well as relevant challenges.

• To raise awareness about nuclear security among young professionals.
